Hannah Lynch

I graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Veterinary Science in 2020, and I started working at Westwood in the September of the same year. I’m originally from Sale in Greater Manchester, but I moved to the other side of the Pennines after graduating and now live in North Leeds. I have always had a passion for animals and I feel very lucky to be working in my dream job. 

I work between both our Boston Spa and Garforth branches, doing a mix of surgery and consulting. I enjoy the variety being a vet brings as no two days are the same. I am one of the vets responsible for the Cats Protection work, which involves visiting the rehoming centre once a week to do the ‘vet run’. I love this part of the job as it’s very rewarding to give back to an amazing charity. I am also an official veterinarian which means I can issue animal health certificates which are needed for taking your pets on holiday, and I am one of the antimicrobial stewards for the practice. I particularly enjoy the practical parts of the job especially surgery and dentistry. 

I have a cat called Peach who has 3 legs, and although I’ve grown up with dogs, I don’t think Peach would appreciate a canine friend so she is my only pet currently. When I have time, I enjoy relaxing with a good book, going on long walks, and spending time with family and friends.
